I’ve spoken a lot about mindful self-compassion, and this practice will take you through the 3 elements of it:

  1. Mindfulness (being aware of your experience, in the moment).

  2. Common humanity (recognising that all our experiences are human, and we are not alone in feeling the ways that we do).

  3. Self-kindness (offering tenderness, support and encouragement to ourselves).

And keep in mind that when you listen to the meditation, there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, and it is totally normal that sometimes when you do, your mind will be completely preoccupied and distracted, or other times you might feel deflated and disengaged. The invitation is to take it as an opportunity to notice how you are today, and know that however you are showing up (including choosing to opt out), is totally welcome.
